JobMob Press Releases

New mobile web job listing site launched - JobMob.mobi

May 15th, 2008

Job seekers can now browse job listings via any web-enabled mobile phone just by going to jobmob.mobi. The mobile website is designed to fit the small screen and to allow easy search navigation. With three simple inputs on the search screen (Location, Job Category and Job Title) the mobile phone user can submit a job search quickly and easily.

"As crazy as it might sound, searching for jobs with a mobile phone is a natural fit." says Mark Nelson, Founder and creator of JobMob. "Being able to job search anytime and anywhere has real advantages. Imagine using your train commute or downtime in an airport to view job listings. It’s off the corporate network and is available when you have time. It just makes sense."

Mobile web use in the U.S. is growing rapidly as new products such as the iPhone other web enabled mobile devices hit the market. Broadband wireless networks such as G3 are also contributing the ease of use and rapid adoption of mobile computing.

How it works:

If a company or recruiter posts a job here:
http://www.jobmob.biz

It will be visible here:
http://www.jobmob.mobi

Why the separation? "We decided from the start, that searching for a job on a mobile phone makes sense." Mark said, "However, posting a job is better suited from a traditional computer due to the amount of information that needs to be input. I think typing in a job description too cumbersome on a phone."

Job seekers can select criteria such as job location, job category and type in a preferred job title so only the most relevant jobs are presented. This will return a list of job titles that are linked to further details. "The trick is to make each step as light weight as possible," Mark said "only giving more detail when they want it to reduce data transfer."

The site has been well received in its short existence. A quick browse of the site shows the number of job postings growing. Mark states "We want to attract both quality job postings as well as convenience for our job seekers. At the same time, we know we need to attract good candidates to provide a great service for recruiters trying to fill their positions."
